ABOUT RECCOPOLIS
The Reccopolis Archaeological Park is located in the municipality of Zorita de los Canes (Guadalajara, Spain). The complex has an interpretation centre accessible to all types of visitors, as well as a series of archaeological sites in the territory that allow visitors to recreate and learn about the medieval history of the southeast of the province of Guadalajara. It is also the only archaeological park in the province of Guadalajara and one of the seven in Castilla-La Mancha.
Visit the interpretation centre

In the interpretation centre you can learn more about the complex and its history over the centuries up to the present day thanks to a series of light boxes accessible to any visitor, which can be consulted via the website.
Visit the site
A visit to the site can be made by following the accessible panels that can be consulted on the website to learn more about the buildings and their functions within the city, as well as to see the excavated structures that still remain.

how to get to the reccopolis site
The Reccopolis archaeological park is located on the Carretera de Almoguera s/n, in the municipality of Zorita de los Canes (Guadalajara). It can be accessed from the CM-200 from the east, or from the CM-2029 from the west. Vehicles park behind the Interpretation Centre, where you can visit the multimedia and virtual reality content. The site is 300 metres from the visitor centre. For wheelchair users, it is advisable to drive to the top of the hill as the ground is uneven and the slope is steep. Of the entire site, only a small part can be visited by wheelchair users as the itinerary has uneven ground and sometimes steep sections. It is 1 hour and a half from Madrid and 1 hour from Guadalajara by car.
